Biodiversity and climate

Within the public discussions around climate, Carbon is placed high on the agenda.

For us it is natural to support the climate decisions made politically where nature benefits as a whole. Peatland restoration projects have therefore been and is currently being undertaken at Braemore and with the next project being finalized in 2024 we will have been improving more than 1.000 Ha., which according to AD Nature should be equivalent to a carbon capture around.

150.000-200.000 tonnes Co2.

Our centered aim therefore lies more in the total improvement in biodiversity within native species. And as such it is obvious for us to work with reforestation with native species as well as conversion of existing woodland from exotic species to indigenous species. It is natural for us to use the possibility to reintroduce species when possible.

We emphasize that the focus is not just CO2 and climate, it is everything around what has an effect on climate.

Walking routes

We have designated walking routes marked on most ordnance maps. We encourage any visitor to follow these routes during the course of their hike.

We have experienced that traffic generates a considerable amount of waste along the edges of the road. It is our hope that some of our visitors will take the opportunity to combine education and help by assisting in keeping the area tidy.

We have for the same reason made bags available for collecting rubbish. We imagine that some families will take this opportunity and contribute to the education of our next generation, We will donate GBP 5 to the Scottish Wildlife Trust for every bag collected.
